Provided diagnostic feedback and support recommendations to families, schools, and primary healthcare providers; individual therapy to children, parent training and family therapy using primarily a cognitive-behavioral approach; after-hours emergency telephone services for clinic in three 1-month blocks. Consultation and Liaison
Conducted psychological assessments with child and adolescent medical inpatients (ages 3-18) referred for a variety of emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues. Referral issues included adjustment to hospitalization and serious illness, acute and chronic pain management, medical adherence, anxiety, depression, neuropsychological sequelae of head injury/brain tumors, feeding disorders, and bereavement. Provided diagnostic information and support recommendations to families and acute care providers (e.g., nurses, physicians) within the inpatient medical setting; individual therapy to children and family therapy to custodial adults and siblings using a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral and play approaches in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Worked closely with staff in other disciplines (e.g., child life, physical therapy, nursing, social work) to coordinate care. Documented client contact through chart notes and consultation reports.

Special Needs/Autism
Conducted psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions with children who present with developmental delays, autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioral problems in an outpatient setting. Participated in Down’s Syndrome and autism interdisciplinary teams that included collaboration of a developmental pediatrician, speech, occupational and physical therapy, nursing, and psychology.

School Consultation
Observed children and adolescents with identified special education needs in the school environment who were referred for behavioral concerns. Conducted functional behavioral assessments and provided behavioral consultation and intervention to parents and school personnel. Participated in interdisciplinary school team meetings and offered recommendations for IEPs. Designed and implemented behavior management plans within the classroom. Provided education and support to school personnel related both to specific diagnoses and to general behavioral management strategies. Documented client contact through chart notes and assessment reports.

Behavioral Pediatrics
Conducted psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents (ages 1 – 18) referred by pediatricians for a variety of emotional and behavioral disorders including anxiety disorders, adjustment reaction, ODD and ADHD, as well as common childhood problems such as enuresis, encopresis, noncompliance, and tantruming.
