Kimberly Kirkpatrick Justice, Ph.D.
Dr. Justice is a licensed psychologist practicing at the Children’s Lung, Asthma & Sleep Specialists in Winter Park, Fl. She is the only clinical psychologist in the Central Florida area recognized by the American Board of Sleep Medicine as completing all requirements to practice a specialty in Behavioral Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Justice earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Florida. During the year following graduation she worked for Dr. Suzanne Bennett Johnson as the Project Coordinator of Dr. Johnson’s NIH funded grant investigating adherence to an intensive insulin therapy treatment regimen in children and adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes. From there, Dr. Justice earned her Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Pediatric and Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Florida’s Clinical and Health Psychology Department.

Dr. Justice’s clinical training also includes a Predoctoral Internship at the prestigious Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics in Kansas City, MO. During this training experience she worked in the general child psychology outpatient clinic conducting psychological and psychoeducational assessments and treatment for children with a variety of learning and behavioral disorders, consulted with medical teams to provide psychological services for the pediatric medical inpatients, participated on the autism interdisciplinary team to provide psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions for children on the autism spectrum, and provided behavioral interventions for children identified with special education needs in the Leavenworth, Kansas school district.

In 2003, Dr. Justice was happy to return home to the Orlando area where she completed her Psychological Residency at Psychological Affiliates, Inc., a private practice specializing in forensic psychology, in Winter Park, Florida. She then joined the practice as a Licensed Psychologist providing therapy to adults, adolescents, children, and families. Her practice specialized in pediatric psychology issues (e.g. adjustment to chronic illness, adherence to the medical regimen, pain management) and clinical child psychology. In addition, she conducted psychological and psychoeducational assessments for individuals, the Department of Children and Families, and the Child Protection Team, along with providing supervision to practicum students and psychological residents.

In 2007, Dr. Justice joined the Children’s Lung, Asthma & Sleep Specialist. She developed the practice’s behavioral sleep medicine program to provide psychological services to the pediatric and adult sleep and pulmonary patients focusing on psychosocial, developmental, and contextual factors contributing to the etiology, course, and outcome of sleep and pulmonary medical conditions; the assessment and treatment of comorbid behavioral and emotional issues; and the promotion of health and health-related behaviors.

Dr. Justice is a proud member of the Pediatric Sleep Council. The Pediatric Sleep Council is an international team with expertise in all aspects of sleep and development, providing free, comprehensive, and evidence-based information on baby and toddler sleep. The PSC provides a free resource for parents and professionals, babysleep.com, which includes advice videos with pediatric sleep experts as well as up-to-date news and research, tips, tricks, and tools to help children and their families get the sleep they need.

Dr. Justice is married with three boys and lives in Winter Park, Florida.
