The practice offers a comprehensive ventilator dependent care program. As pediatric pulmonologists we manage several children who are discharged from the hospital on ventilators. We also manage several children who due to various degenerative muscle conditions will ultimately require the use of ventilators. We manage children on all forms and modes of ventilation and ventilators including children on Trilogy as well as LTV ventilators. For children coming out of the neonatal intensive care unit on ventilators the expectation for most is that they should ultimately come off the ventilators. As part of our role, we provide weaning schedules based on patient tolerance while also providing medical management for conditions such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia. The presence of full monitoring facilities in the sleep laboratories at each location allow us to provide very effective management and monitoring.
